Downloading and Installing MT5
Get the terminal from your broker’s official download page (never third-party mirrors). Install, then log in with your live or demo credentials — the server list auto-completes by broker. Tip for Thai users: keep the data folder on an SSD for faster chart history.
First-Time Setup
Set your chart scheme and candle type, add the pairs you will actually trade to Market Watch, and configure one-click trading only after you trust your own fingers. Turn off every signal popup you do not use — a quiet terminal is a focused terminal.
Placing Your First Order
Right-click the chart → Trading → New Order (or F9). Choose volume from your risk formula, set stop loss and take profit at structure levels, and send. Modify by dragging the SL/TP lines on chart. Close from the Trade tab or chart.
Indicators and Templates
Add indicators from the Navigator, save chart layouts as templates, and use profiles for session-based workspace switching. Keep it light: structure first, confirmation second.
Installing an Expert Advisor (EA)
Copy the .ex5 to MQL5/Experts (File → Open Data Folder), refresh Navigator, drag onto chart, allow algo trading, and — always — test on demo first. Check the Experts journal tab for load confirmation.
MT5 on Mobile
The mobile app is for monitoring and closing on the move; heavy analysis stays on desktop. Enable push notifications from the desktop terminal so the phone is an alarm, not a second office.
